The project comprised of the complete renovation to the external windows for each of the elevations. Masonry repairs, Re-pointing each of the elevations and repair works to existing sandstone archways. Due to the complexity of the scaffolding a design was implemented to ensure that access was achievable to all aspects of each elevation, the fragile roofs below were able to support the weight of the scaffolding and to incorporate wind loadings. The scaffold has also been designed to allow access down the external fire escapes, the fire escapes have been shot blasted and re-coated with weather resistant, anti-slip paint. Remedial works have been carried out within the security lodge, the store area and office areas. The windows which have been installed have been specially designed for the building due to the windows being so large, the windows have integral steel braces to combat wind pressures and to provide rigidity.
