The project comprised of the refurbishment and upgrades to the Laboratory within room 1.318 of the Alan Turing Building. The works consisted of the total rip out of all existing fixtures and fittings, M&E works and minor structural works. The construction of new office area with the installation of new high grade benching throughout the Laboratory. The Alan Turing Building is the Photon Science Institute, in which highly sensitive lasers and measuring equipment is used at all times. MBC had to be in constant contact with the building users to be able to plan work activities in times which would not affect any experiments taking place. The access route to the laboratory was still in use by building users, MBC had an occupied building management system in place so that the building users and operatives where safe at all times. The project incorporated a vibrant colour scheme within the entrance to the refurbished laboratory and the furniture.
