This project consisted of the refurbishment of 9 Kitchens split over three wings in a six week period & was very similar to the scheme we are tendering at the University of Derby. 

The project consisted of the strip out old kitchens including M&E services & floor coverings. Each kitchen then had a new distribution board & M&E upgrades to up the capacity supplied to each kitchen as tripping out was an issue with the old kitchens. 

All electrical items were chased into the walls & plastered previously this has been surface mounted in conduit & this considerably added to project time scales.

MBC Building contractors then provided new bespoke kitchens with soft closing doors. These were manufactured by our Joinery contractor Lab UK in their specialist bench shop. The architect had decided to specify specialist doors and similarly wanted a finish to a lab standard even though this was a kitchen area

Our team then installed black granite work tops including for all sink cut outs etc.  A particular challenge on site was the glass splashbacks when co-ordinating this with electricians etc 

In addition to installing the kitchen we also had to install new flooring & decorate throughout including corridor areas and cable runs. 

Additionally new appliances supplied & installed including plate warmers
