The Sash windows project was for the University of Manchester working on their main library building just off Oxford Road.
To carry out the works we installed a temporary scaffolding around the perimeter of the building doing bay by bay to not interfere with exam periods and graduation.

Each of the windows underwent repairs, these included timber splicing, new pullies, cords, panes of glass, ironmongery, stop blocks, weights, staff beads, stop beads and putty pointing. Each window had new decoration works following the Universities specification.

The works were carried out to provide air flow so that the library could open during Covid 19, all the windows worked on gave the ability to open the top sash or the bottom sash to be able to create a cross draft.

The external stone masonry has received doff cleaning to take away the years of dirt and bringing life back to the building.
