Description – This project was carried out on behalf of NHS Property Services across multiple NHS Trusts throughout Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and North Yorkshire. The works were located at the following Hospitals;

- Holme Valley Hospital - Holmfirth
- Skipton General Hospital
- Westwood Park Community Hospital – Bradford
- Star House - Pontefract
- Babbington Hospital - Belper
- Retford Hospital
- Lings Bar Hospital – Nottingham
- Cherry Tree Hospital – York
- Nelsons Court Hospital – York
- Acombs Gables Health Centre – York
- Oak Rise Bungalows – York
- Ripon Hospital

The works across all of the locations required carrying out passive fire protection installations in line with the survey provided by an external consultant. The works that we carried out across these estates were as follows;

Installation of passive fire protection to service penetrations
Installation of FR vent grilles
Installation of FR doors
Installation of FR curtain to roof voids.
The project held numerous difficulties in terms of working around live environments that took a lot of care and attention given the situation regarding patient occupation and other estates works on going. Mid way through the project all works were halted due to COVID-19 preparation across the entirety of the NHS estate. As precautions began to ease we were able to get back on to site and resume works that had previously been left. A new working method had to be sought and introduced to comply with COVID-19 restrictions, this was embraced by MBC and we were able to largely resume works across all sites, however a number were still closed to contractors due to them being COVID-19 testing stations or treatment centres.
