At Hucklow Primary School they were having a issue with the flooring which was causing it to raise, it is believed to be caused by damp.

The original floor build up was parquet flooring, which has been screeded and carpet tiles had been installed, MBC removed all the floor build up back to joists within the newer extension and concrete within the original building.

This was then treated with DPM Coating along with a new injection damp proof to the external walls of the school, the walls then received  damp seal plaster.

Once this was completed, new flooring was installed, this build up was moisture resistant chipboard, ply for areas of vinyl, screed with a finish of anti-slip vinyl and carpet tiles.

MBC also installed new sinks and cupboards.

The classroom was fully decorated and all furniture was reinstated.

Within the corridor we refurbished the parquet flooring, this was sanded down and any loose timbers where cleaned and re-glued, this was then sealed with a high traffic varnish.
